Pangbourne is also the home of Kenneth Grahame, author of The Wind in the Willows. You will also pass Mapledurham House, dating from 1588 and thought to be the model for Toad Hall. Alternatively, how about a leisurely boat cruise from Sonning to Henley-On-Thames?

Experience the bustling market town of Henley & the Royal Regatta or how about the 80′s rewind festival? Boat Gina is based in Caversham, Reading and your holiday begins with an hour’s tuition by a qualified skipper in the handling of the boat.

There is a choice of boating holiday routes you can take depending on the length of your holiday. Detailed routes and maps timings and will be provided to help you along the way. For longer breaks of a week or more, why not continue downstream to beautiful Marlow, stop over night and then journey onwards to Windsor? A perfect way to unwind.

Alternatively, cruise along the Kennet & Avon canal from Reading to Newbury and visit the numerous pubs along the way, while taking in the beautiful countryside.

A narrow boat is easy to drive and for those of you new to canal boating holidays, be rest assured you will be given full tuition in driving the boat and you will quickly soon have the confidence to go and explore the River Thames or the Kennet & Avon canal  on your own. We are always close on hand, should you need us.
For those of you who would really prefer not to drive the boat at all and simply use it as a holiday base, then we will meet you at the boat either  at the Bel And The dragon in Reading, in Henley or in Pangbourne, depending on where you choose to be.

The Bel and the Dragon is an excellent central location for anyone wishing to visit  London, Legoland or Windso by train. The mooring is a 10 minute walk from Reading train station, which has excellent links to London (train journey is 35 minutes to London) and to Windsor / Slough.
